WELCOME TO REDDING WONDERLAND GARDEN CLUB

ABOUT REDDING WONDERLAND GARDEN CLUB

In 1950, a group of sixteen ladies in Redding, CA started Wonderland Garden Club, a non-profit organization.

In 2009, the name was changed to Redding Wonderland Garden Club. Today we are 70 members strong and growing.  Our goal is to educate in horticulture and floral design, participate in civic beautification, increase interest in amateur gardening, flower shows, work for public understanding of ecological values (especially with youth), and provide garden therapy. One of our clubs’ missions is to provide annual donations for scholarships to local high school and college students in our area.

The following are just a few of the community projects we participate in:

    • ·       Redding Veterans Home Beautification Project: Landscaping residential areas inside the residents’ courtyards and grounds.
    • ·       Arbor Day: A tree is planted annually at a local elementary school.
    • ·       Scholarships: Provide annual donations to college and high school students majoring in horticulture, forestry, environmental sciences, and agriculture.
    • ·       Penny Pines Project: Raise funds for reforestation of trees in our Shasta-Trinity National Forest.
    • ·       Garden Therapy: Provide bouquets of flowers to residents of assisted living facilities and the Veterans Home, letting them know they are remembered and not forgotten.
